In March of 2010, famous soccer player, David Beckham, suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon which caused him not to be able to play in the 2010 World Cup. The objective of Beckham Can Still Play is to score as many goals as possible. You are given ten attempts to shoot the ball into the net. Each goal that you score earns you ten points. When all tries have been exhausted, the game will end. There is no actual way to win or lose in this soccer game, but try to score as many goals as possible.

Beckham Can Still Play is controlled by using the keyboard. The left and right arrow keys move Beckham left and right. The 1, 2, and 3 number keys are used to make goal attempts: headers, high shots, and low shots respectively. These keys cannot be redefined so you are stuck using them. The control setup of this soccer game may seem strange or counter-intuitive, especially since most Flash games would probably use the A,S, and D keys or the Z, X, and C keys, but the game can still be controlled easily.

The keys to success in this soccer game are timing and placement. Try to contact the ball as it passes directly in front of Beckham to shoot straight. Shooting a bit before the ball is directly in front of you will cause it to go to the left, shooting a bit late causes the ball to go to the right. If you shoot too early or too late, you will miss the ball completely. If the ball is coming in high, then use a header, kick the ball if it comes in low. Low kicks seem to be easier to score with than high kicks in this soccer game.
