Football 3D is a simple association football game with cute 3D graphics and simple controls. The in-game instructions of this soccer game are all in German, but this should not prevent non-German speakers from enjoying the game.

The objective of Football 3D is to score as many goals as possible within the sixty-second time limit. You control a lone player on offense against a team of three defenders and one goalkeeper. You do not have to worry about defending your own goal in this soccer game, but it is possible to kick the ball into your own goal (this has no effect on your score).

The Allies won World War Two, so knowledge of the German language is probably not something that you require in your daily life. Knowing a few German words will help you to better understand Football 3D, however. The first, most important word that you will need to know is "spielen", which means "to play". You will have to click the "Spielen" button in order to start the game. "Zeit", meaning time, is another important word that appears next to the clock that counts down from sixty seconds at the bottom of the screen. Finally, the words "tore" and "punkte" indicate the number of goals that you have scored and the points earned by scoring the goals.

Football 3D uses a unique keyboard control scheme. The left and right arrow keys turn your player rather than moving in those directions like in most soccer games. Pressing the up arrow key causes your player to move forward in the direction that he is facing. If the ball is in your possession, you can shoot it by pressing the spacebar.

Football 3D has outstanding graphics for a Web game as well as a great game engine. The simplicity of its gameplay may make it appeal to some, but for others, it may be a downfall. Personally, I would like to see a full soccer game that uses this engine where players have to play defense in addition to offense. Despite being scaled down, Football 3D is an entertaining sports game that soccer fans and casual gamers can enjoy!
