Ghost Soccer is an entertaining soccer game that takes the basic premise you get with most of the other soccer games online and adds ghosts. Not really a big difference, but one that makes the game a little more interesting and sets it apart from the other games in the genre. When you first begin playing you'll decide whether you want to play as the human team or the ghost team; a decision that is really a matter of preference over anything else. Both teams use the same controls and can do the same things, but the fact that you can choose which team you want to control gives the game a little something extra that isn't offered in most of the other soccer games online. If you have any experience with team based soccer games, you shouldn't really have much of a problem with this one. It uses the standard controls so getting the hang of how the game is played isn't really that difficult. Getting the hang of how to play the game well is a bit of a different story.

In Ghost Soccer, as with most of the other team based soccer games online, you only control one player at any given time. The player you are in control of will have an arrow over their head indicating they are the active player. Make sure you keep an eye out for that. Sometimes it might seem obvious that one player is closer to the ball making them the active player, but that isn't always the case. The only way you'll know for sure is to watch the indicator arrow. Also, the active player can change rather suddenly, especially as the ball moves around the field. Pay attention to the arrow. You don't want to be looking at the wrong player when you're trying to control the ball or reach the ball to take control of it. Often times, doing this will result in you moving the active player further away from the ball instead of closer, not to mention the confusion that comes from looking at a player and expecting it to move a certain way only to realize you're looking at the wrong part of the screen entirely.

Ghost Soccer offers you the ability to choose the power behind your kick which is something you don't get in most of the other soccer games online. You can definitely use this to your advantage. When you hit 'x' to begin your kick, a red power bar will appear. If you want a lot of power behind your kick, let the bar fill up completely before you release the 'x' button. This will give you the most possible power behind your kick. Power kicks are not right for every circumstance though. Look at the situation you're in and use your best judgment. If you're passing the ball to a player close to you, you're not going to want to use as much force behind your kick. Passing can be tricky to begin with. Don't make it even more complicated by using too much or too little power. That said, passing is an important part of the game. If you're an experienced team soccer game player you should be able to get the hang of it pretty quickly but newcomers to the genre are likely going to have a bit more trouble. You really need to be fast and plan ahead. If you want to complete the pass successfully, you'll need to be ready to control the player kicking and quickly switch to controlling the player you are passing to. Since you can't choose the active player, you have to wait until the arrow switches on its own. Don't worry though, you'll have enough time to do it if you're careful and you pay attention to what's going on. If you don't, you're going to lose the ball to the opposing team.

Overall, Ghost Soccer is the kind of soccer game that fans of the genre are going to love playing. It's great for newcomers and experienced players alike because it is fairly uncomplicated yet still offers a decent challenge. Newcomers to online soccer games are going to find this one a little hard to get the hang of in the beginning but thanks to the easy to use controls, it won't feel impossible or overwhelming. It can be hard to get the timing right and get used to watching for the changes in the active player. The more you play, though, the more you will improve. More experienced players, on the other hand, are probably going to find this one a bit on the easy side but that won't take away from the enjoyment of the game. Have fun with it, pay attention and work on your passes and you should be able to do great in this game.
