Miniball Walkthrough

The objective in this game of soccer is simple: win the match by being the first to score 5 goals. There are no time limits. There are no special rules, power ups, or whatever. No referees to call a penalty too! Just score 5 goals and take the match. That's all there is to it.

As mentioned earlier, the controls are very simple to pick up. Just move your Foosball players - the fellas with the blue soccer jersey, up and down. Once they collide with the soccer ball, they will automatically kick it towards the other side... towards the goal. This sort of reminds of this game you find in arcade houses. You know, that soccer game where you pull and push to control the plastic soccer players that are 'barbecued' with a metal stick... and twisting the metal bar to kick the ball. For the life of me, I just can't remember the name of this toy or game (whatever you want to call it). I'm sure you'll understand what I'm saying when you play the game.

There are 3 game modes to choose from - Novice, Semi Pro, and Pro. If you are new to this type of soccer games, I recommend you start from the bottom with the Novice AI. The Pro mode is good enough to love-set you... 0-5 in the computer's favor! Heck, the Novice mode even gave me hard time. While it's not as aggressive, it can defend pretty well. The semi pro mode, as you can tell, is somewhere in between. My first game with the semi pro AI landed me at a losing score of 2-5!

There isn't much to be said about the strategies or tricks you need to have under your sleeve to play this soccer game like a PRO. Nah, it's not that intricate BUT at the same time, it's NOT piece of cake. What I will tell you though is whatever happens, never ever take your eyes off the ball (that just reminded me of a line from Forrest Gump :D). You see, it's easy to be confused by those 2 teams that are moving in unison. I had a hard time keeping up where the ball is going and how I should react.

If you don't want to end up with abysmal scores like 0-5 or 2-5, which I had just minutes ago, focus... always look at the ball and keep another eye on your team. This should help you keep up. While NOT one of the soccer games for the more serious enthusiasts and gamers, Miniball is definitely fun and can be counted on to get rid of the boredom during those stale and dull Sundays!
