Premiere League Foosball brings the popular game of foosball to your computer. This sports game features teams based on real-life English soccer (association football) teams, simple controls, and two table layouts.

Premiere League Foosball follows a round-robin tournament format, similar to the knockout phase of the World Cup. Before each match, you can select between a 3-4-2 layout or 4-3-2 layout. The former is better for a defensive style of play while the latter works well for an offensive style of play and is better for novice players that are having a hard time scoring goals. Neither layout gives an unfair advantage since both teams use the same layout.

The keyboard is used to control Premiere League Foosball. Use the arrow keys to move your players. Hold the spacebar to activate turbo and increase your speed, but keep an eye on the turbo bar since your supply is limited. Unlike real foosball, rows of players cannot be moved individually in this soccer game. Also, instead of spinning rows of players to "kick", players will automatically kick, essentially making each match a multi-paddled game of Pong.

Premiere League Foosball is fun, but it is not a perfect representation of foosball. As previously stated, this soccer game plays more like a giant game of Pong than a true table soccer match. It is also possible to score goals by banking the ball off of the back wall and into your opponent's goal, making it impossible for their goalkeeper to block the shot. This can also happen to you, and is quite frustrating when it does! Hopefully, if the developers ever make a sequel, they will fix this issue.

Premiere League Foosball is not the best representation of foosball on the Web, but it is an alternative to hitting the bar or arcade when you just need your table soccer fix. Fans of Pong may also enjoy this soccer game due to its core gameplay mechanics.
