Virtual Champions League is a soccer game played from a top-down view of the action. Virtual Champions League features cute graphics, challenging gameplay, and eight teams to choose from based on real association football clubs.

The ultimate objective of Virtual Champions League is to win the tournament. In order to do this, you must lead your team to victory in three-minute-long soccer matches to progress to the next stage of the tournament. Winning matches allows you to progress, while losing matches will cause your team to be eliminated. At the beginning of this soccer game, you are given the choice to play as one of eight association football teams. Different teams do not have different statistics or abilities, so simply choose the team that you like best.

In Virtual Champions League, both teams field four players. You are able to control the three players in the field, while goalkeeping is handled automatically by the computer. The player that you are currently controlling will have a green circle at their feet. You are always in control of the player on your team that is closest to the ball or in possession of the ball. Use the arrow keys to move the selected player around and use the Z and X keys to pass or shoot the ball. Players will always kick in the direction that they are facing in this soccer game, so make sure that your player is facing in the proper direction to pass or to shoot before kicking the ball!

When playing offense in Virtual Champions League, you will have to pay close attention to the small bar adjacent to each of your players. If this bar becomes completely red, then your player will not have enough energy to pass or to shoot. For this reason, it is a good idea to pass the ball often so as not to fatigue your players. It is also a good idea to pass the ball when trying to score goals in this soccer game. The goalkeepers are rather slow and do not have the ability to dive. To take advantage of this, pass the ball to a teammate on the other side of the opponent's goal, then quickly kick the ball into the net to score.

Slow goalkeeping applies to your team as well in Virtual Champions League. Since you are not allowed to directly control the goalkeeper, you will have to play a good field defense. Try to steal the ball away from your opponents when on their side of the field, but when your opponents are close to your goal, it is best to position yourself between their player that is in possession of the ball and any opposing player that they could quickly pass the ball to.
